In December we had snow. Roads and trees were covered with a thin layer of snow for two weeks. Switzerland was not ready for this. Rare snow is one of those few cases when the Swiss punctuality fails.
Every day when I go to work I have to go through a train station. During this “snowy” period I knew for sure that there would be an ad about train cancellation – no matter when exactly I had to pass by. It is still a riddle to me how a centimeter of snow can stop all the trains.
It is so extraordinary to have snow here that it does not make any sense to invest into supporting infrastructure during snow.
